Referring to your letter of the 17th ultimo, I have the honour to transmit to you, for the information of the Secretary of State, a copy of the Agreement into which we have entered on behalf of the Government of Hong Kong with Mr. Lancelot Ernest Brett on his appointment as Junior Wundarmer in the Civil Hospital in that Colony.

A passage has been provided for Mr. Brett in the steamship London to leave on or about the 25th instant.
